Vocalists in grades 8 through 12 are invited to participate in auditions being held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at
Salem Lutheran Church 1700 W. War Memorial Drive, Peoria - beginning at 9:00am.
The winner of this competition will have the privilege of performing as a soloist at the Peoria Area Civic
Chorale’s
An American Family Christmas concert on December 20, 2009. In addition, the winner will receive a
plaque and a full scholarship to music camp at Eureka College.
AUDITION RULES
- Application deadline is Tuesday, October 20, 2009.
- Musical selections should be either classical or Broadway. (You do not have to choose a Christmas theme.) All
selections are subject to approval. Should a selection not be approved, the candidate will be notified and be given an
opportunity to choose another song. When choosing a song, keep in mind that classical music is usually more
competitive as it gives the judges more insight into your vocal ability and training.
- Applicants should contact the PACC business office well in advance of the application deadline if they have any
doubts concerning their selection.
- All audition pieces should be memorized.
- At the time of the audition, each participant must give the judges a copy of the musical selection being performed.
- Each student should have his/her own accompanist at the audition. If an accompanist cannot be found, please call the PACC business office at (309)693-6725.
- Students may not win the competition in consecutive years.
