Vocalists in grades 8 through 12 are invited to participate in auditions being held Saturday, October 20, 2007 at the First Christian Church 6400 N. University, Peoria - beginning at 9:00am.
The winner of this competition will have the privilege of performing as a soloist at the Peoria Area Civic Chorale’s An American Family Christmas concert at the Civic Center Theater December 14,15, and 16, 2007. In addition, the winner will receive a plaque and a full scholarship to music camp at Eureka College. (Music Camp dates – June 15th-21st)
AUDITION RULES
- Application deadline is Tuesday, October 16, 2007.
- Musical selections should be either classical or Broadway and are subject to approval by the PACC music director. Selections should demonstrate adequate difficulty and showcase the vocal abilities of each vocalist. Should a selection not be approved, the candidate will be notified and be given an opportunity to choose another song.
- Applicants should contact the PACC business office well in advance of the application deadline if they have any doubts concerning their selection.
- All audition pieces should be memorized.
- At the time of the audition, each participant must give the judges a copy of the musical selection being performed.
- Each student should have his/her own accompanist at the audition. If an accompanist cannot be found, please call the PACC business office at (309)693-6725.
- Students may not win the competition in consecutive years.
